Enjoy the journey

I started the process of creating my e-portfolio this past summer in the 5302 course. I initially created my e-portfolio in ” Weebly '' and just explored by putting together the website based on a general idea of the format and the layout. After a few weeks of working on the website I abandoned the weebly platform for the “Wix platform, which allowed for better flexibility and a more intuitive layout that was similar to many presentation creation websites. I learned many things from just experimenting and moving items around to make the e-portfolio my own, and at the end I was very proud of what I had created. But I learned the most from viewing other e-portfolios and asking questions.

The idea behind creating an e-portfolio is social constructivism. The learning happens in the process of the student creating a product with the dialogue of others, but I struggle in my own role as an educator in creating this type of meaningful learning environment in my own classes. How can I create an intrinsic connection with the e-portfolio that would encourage one to make continuous improvements in their e-portfolio without an emphasis on just the letter grade?
